Oliver spent 25 years working with communities across the South East of England, delivering Government funded regeneration schemes in areas of deprivation, and pulling together community-based projects from initial ideas to delivery on the ground.
Oliver understands the dynamics of community and how to pull people together for a common cause.
Oliver also understands what it takes to establish a growing initiative from scratch - both in the public sector (previously delivering a successful prison-based rehabilitation project for a client, funded by the Lottery) and building Smart Greens as a personal endeavour.
In recent months, Oliver has advised a number of interest groups about the concept of community growing areas and approaches to communituy cohesion, funding, design and sustainability (both day-to-day and environmental).
